I recently received my new galaxy disc (M101) for my projector and added it to my collection. Stunning view of M101, also known as the Pinwheel Galaxy projected by Sega Homestar Flux projector and Miller Engineering disc onto the ceiling of my study. The galaxy with a diameter of 170,000 light years is 21 million light years away from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major (Big Dipper), and it can be seen through binoculars if you draw an imaginary equilateral triangle having the base of the constellation’s last two stars from the handle Alkaid and Mizar, the vertex opposite the base of the triangle contains the galaxy, like I shown at the end of the video. Because M101 spiral galaxy is too far away from the Milky Way and Andromeda, it does not belong to our local group of galaxies, it has its own group. Pinwheel Galaxy like Andromeda has about one trillion stars, Milky has about 200 billion stars. Pinwheel Galaxy’s arms are sprinkled with star-forming nebulas. The Pinwheel Galaxy does not have a center containing a supergiant black hole like the Milky Way, but instead has stellar-mass black holes.
