The COVID-19 pandemic continues to inflict adverse impacts on the global economy. Governments around the world continue to implement various measures to mitigate its impact on businesses and households. Across the Eastern Africa region, the impacts of COVID-19 have been felt differently by different common bean value chain actors. COVID-19 considerably impacted businesses, especially women-owned agri-businesses, which contributes significantly to food security and income. Women-owned agribusinesses in Tanzania have also felt the pinch of COVID 19, and in this video, they describe the impact of the Corona Virus on their businesses and livelihood. It has not been a walk in the park! They are left to reminisce the pre-corona times when business was booming. PABRA is linking bean farmers and traders to off-takers and processors using the bean corridor approach. Offtakers are paying premium prices for beans collected and sold in regional and international markets. On the other hand, processors are developing nutritious and healthy bean-based products that boost the communities' #health and #nutrition.
