Long forgotten locomotive saved - 1941 80T moved to Newport & Narragansett Bay Railroad - 9/25/2023

(Part 1 of 9/25/2023 move) In this video the former Northeast Utilities switcher, long stored/mothballed and forgotten inside the decommissioned power plant in Springfield, MA, finally makes its way to its new home in Portsmouth, RI. Purchased last year the locomotive has slowly made its way to Rhode Island over the past three months with a rail section and last mile trucking to the isolated Newport Secondary Rail Line. This video shows the last mile trucking to "Hummocks" in Portsmouth, RI and the beginning of the rail trip to Melville, RI where the locomotive will be reactivated.
