Welcome to one of the tastiest traditions in Houston – the 2026 World Championship BBQ Contest. The popular annual event is a fan favorite - where the pits fire up, the music is loud, and teams from all over bring their A-game in a smoky showdown for bragging rights. From secret rubs to party tents, this is the ultimate kickoff to rodeo season. The legendary event runs Thursday, Feb. 26th – Saturday Feb. 28th where more than 250 teams compete in brisket, ribs, chicken — and even Dutch oven desserts. Watch as Lauren Kelly gives us a preview from inside both the Cotton ‘Q’ Club and the WarPig BBQ tents.
