The promise of AI is enormous and will play a vital role in our future, where AI can automate tasks, make predictions, and solve some of the biggest challenges that humanity is facing today. The repercussions are equally tremendous, for example, some occupations may decline while others grow, creating uncertainty surrounding the livelihood as we know it today. Change is often difficult but engaging with AI will help with a smoother transition into an exciting new world by avoiding pitfalls. So, embrace the technology and join together to shape a better tomorrow, as the choices we make today will impact our future benefiting all of us instead of a few. Mamatha Thota firmly believes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the greatest inventions that humanity has ever made, which can make the world a better place. She is passionate about solving real-world problems using AI. She explores and develops novel state-of-the-art generalization techniques that apply abstract knowledge gained from learning about one problem to solve different problems. She is a mother, AI advocate, AI enthusiast, and PhD student at the University of Lincoln. She is currently focusing on learning representations in a self-supervised way by reducing the need for supervision in computer vision.
