"Starlight Fortress Pork" Makes My Favorite Meat Grill in Chiang Mai

Lunchtime with ‪@martinbravosiam‬ at "Khum Saeng Dao" is an excellent one today, thank you for hanging out with us!! Welcome to Chiang Mai, welcome to one of the world's homes of BBQ. In my opinion this is one of those very special situations where time seems to slow, a rare moment in life when it is OK to completely prioritize your BBQ selection over every other decision you have. For about 7 years running, this is my favorite for Northern Thai BBQ, and its great to be able to share a lunch here with YOU, and with my friend Martin today. Thanks for joining us!! "Khum Saeng Dao" is located north of Chiang Mai about 15 minutes by car, it will be on the east side of the road (if you head out of town, you'll need to U-turn before Mae Rim) - its easy to find though as it lies directly opposite the huge solder camp (probably where the restaurant gets its name). The restaurant's unique name also is only beaten by the furious amounts of fire needed to cook for the daily lunch rush - both of which are huge! Finally, you will need to find parking somewhere under the large stock trees beside the restaurant, and all will be right in the world as you leave your vehicle and proceed to walk down the GALLERY of northern Thai meat treats all laid out in a series of pots, pans, grills, and platters. My personal favorite is their grill selection, but actually "Khum Saeng Dao" makes great food-to-order dishes, and even has a selection of about 15 "curry with rice" dishes (all Northern style as well), its a place where you really could learn about nearly the entire cuisine of Northern Thailand in just one meal.
