#house #architecture #housedesign In the heart of a serene countryside, a family home yearned for a transformation. It was a time of change, a period marked by challenges that demanded adaptability and flexibility. The vision was to create a space that could evolve with the family’s ever-changing needs, a sanctuary that would foster connection and inspire creativity. The architectural rear extension was the first step in this ambitious project. It would not only expand the home’s footprint but also redefine its character. The once-traditional layout was reimagined, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces. The once-dominant television was relegated to the background, replaced by a more communal and interactive living area. The kitchen, no longer a mere culinary space, became a vibrant hub of activity. A striking three-meter-long timber table, seemingly floating above the kitchen island, invited family members to gather, work, and socialize. This innovative design choice was a testament to the architects’ commitment to creating a dynamic and functional environment. To further enhance the home’s versatility, pivoting panels and sliding screens were strategically placed throughout the space. These elements allowed for seamless transitions between rooms, creating a multitude of configurations to suit various moods and activities. A towering, double-height oak wall, sourced from certified forests, became the centerpiece of the interior. This architectural marvel served multiple purposes, acting as a staircase balustrade, mezzanine balustrade, display unit, storage space, and even a hidden door to a secondary kitchen. It was a stunning example of form and function harmoniously intertwined.Unexpected details added a touch of surprise and delight to the home. A “peeling off” effect on the wall revealed a cozy fireplace on the mezzanine level, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
