The Talamanca mountain range in Costa Rica is home to many endemic and near-endemic birds, of which the famous resplendent quetzal truly stands out. In only five days we have encoutered 78 different species of birds, including 14 hummingbirds. During our stay in the Talamanca Highlands and Cloud Forests we visted the following birding hotspots: Hotel Quelitales, Quinta Galeón Lodge, Savegre Valley, Miriam's Quetzales Restaurant, Paraiso Quetzal Lodge, Cerro de la Muerte and Los Quetzales National Park. Welcome to part 1 of our three week bird watching tour to Costa Rica in December 2024 and January 2025. We stayed two nights at the wonderful Orosi Lodge and three nights at the beautiful Trogon Lodge. We would like to thank our amazing guide Beto Guido for showing us all the beautiful birds and wildlife of Costa Rica: / beto.guido.589 Please find all the animal species names in the video subtitles [CC] or in the description below.
