The Caribbean Lowlands of Costa Rica are a birdwatcher's paradise. It stretches from the Caribbean coast in the southeast to the border with Nicaragua in the north. The area is dominated by rolling hills, river valleys, farmland, and primary and secondary forests. During our stay in the Caribbean Lowlands, we visited the following birding hotspots: La Selva Biological Station, Mirador el Pizote and Donde Cope.
