This time, we get off at Ebisucho Station on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line and go to Shinsekai, commonly known as Ebisuhigashi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka City. Please excuse the Osaka dialect style in the video. As soon as we exited the station, Tsutenkaku Tower, with Hitachi written on it, loomed up in front of us. Walking along the Tsutenkaku Hondori shopping street, you can really feel Osaka. After all, there are many bicycles. Our guide teacher told us that bicycles are very convenient because the city center of Osaka is within biking distance. Walking down the street, we found a retro arcade called Zarigani. The signs and pictures around it were also flashy, as expected of Osaka. Also, to the east, there is the gay town of Tennoji Park and Asahimachi, which was known as the forest of male prostitutes. A mural painted gorgeously on the ceiling of Tsutenkaku Tower shows a club? I thought it was a snack bar, but it was an advertisement for Club Cosmetics' Club Wash Powder, Club White Powder, Club Toothpaste, and Club Lotion. The Shinsekai Hondori shopping street is lined with drinking establishments such as kushikatsu, takoyaki and okonomiyaki restaurants. These include Daruma, the original kushikatsu restaurant founded in 1929; Tsuruhashi Fugetsu, an okonomiyaki restaurant; Zuboraya, a blowfish restaurant; Gyoza no Ohsho; Yokozuna; Asahi Gekijo, a hall of fascination for popular theatrical performances; Gyoteki, a popular entertainment venue; Kamonishiki, a dipping duck udon restaurant; and Shinsekai Oyaji no Kushiya. We went to Shinsekai Oyaji no Kushiya for kushikatsu. It was a great daytime beer. We had kushikatsu with meat, asparagus, red ginger, rice cakes, and tater tots. Since it's Corona, they don't allow you to dip the kushikatsu in the sauce twice like they used to, but now they pour the sauce on top. After lunch, we finally went to Tsutenkaku, the symbolic tower of the tourist attraction that towers over the center of Shinsekai! Completed in 1956, Tsutenkaku has the name Hitachi written on it, but it's not a radio tower, but an observation tower. The admission fee for the general observatory is a whopping 900 yen, and the special outdoor observatory is an additional 300 yen. Advance tickets can also be purchased online at a slightly lower price. Inside Tsutenkaku, there is the Kinnikuman Museum, gold decorations everywhere, and lots of paraphernalia such as Osakas' Holiday and Go to Tsuutenkaku. From the observatory, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Osaka, including Abeno Harukas, Tennoji Zoo, Namba, Osaka Castle, and the Ikoma Mountains of Rokko. The official character, Mr. Billiken, is placed all over the place. He was designed and patented in 1908 by American Florence Pretz, who dreamed of him as a child. She made it famous at Luna Park, a former amusement park in the New World. If you walk along the Yamato line from Shinsekai to Shin-Imamiya, you will find the World's Great Hot Spring Spa World, a 24-hour comfort space for beauty and health. I didn't go in this time, but I heard that there is a huge hot spring pool, many hot springs, and a hotel. Next to Spa World, the Jan Jan Yokocho (Nanyodori Shopping Street, also known as Gunkan Yokocho) arcade street connects Shinsekai with the flower town Tobita Yuukaku (Tobita Shinchi), which leads to Tobita Main Street, Airin District, and Kamagasaki. It's a town full of drunks. Finally, I went from MEGA Don Quijote Shinsekai store to Shin-Imamiya station. I didn't come back. Good-bye.
