In this session of the Connector.pk Exclusive Webinar Series 2026, we were honored to host Ms. Mansurah Arowosekila, a highly experienced education professional with expertise in school inspection, teacher development, and educational consultancy across the UK and UAE. The webinar explored “Assessment Patterns for Modern-Day Students,” focusing on how assessment practices must evolve from rigid, recall-based systems to responsive, intelligence-driven models that meet the needs of today’s learners. Key themes discussed in the session included: Moving Beyond Recall: Shifting from standardized, paper-based exams toward higher-order thinking and the real-world application of knowledge. The AI Challenge: Validating student knowledge and using project-based work to minimize AI-reliance while teaching students to audit and fact-check AI outputs. Data-Driven Instruction: Using "true data" (rather than inflated results) to inform curriculum tweaks and teaching practices at both the classroom and national levels. Fostering Self-Assessment: Developing lifelong learners by modeling the use of rubrics, checklists, and "traffic light" reflections to give students ownership of their progress. Removing the "Fear" of Assessment: Shifting from high-stakes, high-anxiety events to frequent, low-stakes checks that provide immediate, "humane," and personalized feedback. Through our Exclusive Webinar Series, Connector.pk aims to create a global platform where educators and education leaders can exchange ideas, share best practices, and collaborate for meaningful change in education. This initiative contributes toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 – Quality Education SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals We extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Mansurah Arowosekila for sharing her valuable expertise and to all the educators whose interactive participation enriched this global conversation.
