ABC News coverage 9:45 pm. Its 38 days into the Gulf War and now the land war has begun. US ground troops and allied coalition forces have moved into occupied Kuwait. Earlier, President Bush had given an ultimatum to Iraq to leave. In addition the Soviets have tried to negotiate Iraqi removal from Kuwait. Nothing happened. Negotiations are over. The land war has started. There is military analysis discussion on Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Rocket Launcher and how it is used in the ground war along with Hellfire air to surface rocket. The M-113 and Bradley tanks carry the troops into the battle. Bush makes a statement to the public about how the ground war has begun. Bush says that since Saddam Hussein has not withdrawn from Kuwait, the coalition forces are moving to eject the Iraqi army form Kuwait. Bush says the liberation of Kuwait has now entered a final phase.
