Dilute After loading tips, press the Dilute icon in the upper left on the touchpad. It’s a tip with a clear drop and a solid drop. In the center, tap Volume 1, and set the Dilute volumes for Aspiration number one and Aspiration number two. Then tap Done. Next, tap the Aspiration-Dispense Speed button, and set rates for aspirate and dispense. Tap Done. If you want to Mix after dispensing, tap the Menu button. Tap the Mix button to turn Mix ON – green. Then tap Done. Tap the Mix Cycle button in the center, and set a Volume. Leave the “Manual” button untouched if you prefer to mix manually. If you want BenchSmart to mix your liquids automatically, tap “Manual,” and enter a number of in/out Cycles. Then tap Done. Move the head over the first reservoir, and in the lower right corner of the touchscreen tap the green “up” arrow to aspirate. Raise the tips out of the liquid and tap the UP arrow again to aspirate air. Place the second reservoir under the head, lower the tips into the liquid, and tap the UP arrow again to aspirate the 2nd volume. Raise the head.
