Track 5 from his debut album released in 1981 copyright True North Records. It was recorded at Century 21 Studios in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was produced by Graham Shaw & Eugene Martynec. Shaw had played in several local Winnipeg bands since the early sixties and at one point was in a band called the Deverons with Burton Cummings, who went on to form the Guess Who with Randy Bachman. In 1977 he formed his backing band, the Sincere Serenaders, and signed a recording contract as a solo artist with Capitol Records. The label urged him to ditch his band and use studio musicians for his debut album but he refused. The self-titled release had two Top 40 hits in Canada. He signed with True North Records for this second album. It had a couple of minor hits in Canada. He later did session work and contributed keyboards and background vocals to Alice Cooper's solo album "Dada" released in '83. He also co-wrote three songs for that album. He released a third solo album independently in 2008. Recorded from the original vinyl. Written by Graham Shaw and produced by Graham Shaw & Eugene Martynec. Featuring: Graham Shaw - Lead vocals, piano, lead & rhythm guitars, synthesizer, trumpet & percussion The Sincere Serenaders: Paul O'Neill - Lead & rhythm guitars Gary Stefaniuk - Bass Gord Osland - Drums, percussion & background vocals Susan Lethbridge - Percussion & background vocals Ilena Zaramba - Percussion & background vocals Ralph Watts - Rhythm guitar on "You Came" How long, yeah, has your sweet baby been gone, yeah? And how low do you think your baby would go? Well, your imagination is ragin' You may get her back one day but it's never the same (You know it's never the same) (How long) how long have you been travelin' alone? And (how long) how long have you been makin' it on your own? And now you want to go back home Well, you just might make it one day but it's never the same, no, no (You know it's never the same) No, it's never the same, no (How long) how long since you first learned how to fly? (How long) how long since you first drowned in The Insane embraces of the deep blue sky? And now you want to come back down Well, you may reach the ground one day but it's never the same, no (You know it's never the same) No, it's never the same
