Sugar Glue / Edible Glue Recipe *Clean Container for storing the glue ¼ tsp CMC or Tylose powder 1/3 cup of boiled water (that has cooled slightly) This recipe is for a small quantity to get you started if you need more, just double the recipe. Take a clean container, add 1/4 tsp of CMC or Tylose powder, then add 1/3 cup of boiled water (that has cooled slightly), pour the water over the CMC or Tylose powder give it a stir or a shake. Leave it overnight or for at least for 4 hours until cooled to room temperature. It may look cloudy at first, with lumps, but don’t worry about this, the lumps will dissolve, and you will be left with a clear solution, that can be used on any edible creation. Once made up, it must be stored in the fridge and can be kept for up to 1 month. Equipment Used For The Gumpaste Rose: • 18G-gauge white wire – For the stem OR Bamboo Skewers • 28G -gauge wire – For the leaves *Rose or teardrop cutters *Spoons – To rest your cut petals to firm up *Styrofoam ball – 2.5cm/1 inch size • Wire cutters • Ball tool (plastic or metal is fine) • Rolling pin (6” or 9”) • Florist tape in deep green • Silicone impression mould – Rose & Leaf • Ruler • Paint brushes – For edible glue and dusting petal dusts • Tweezers • Foam pad • Veining tool • Sugar glue* Container for storing sugar glue if you make it yourself • Petal dust - Colours according to the colour of the flower you do *Edible Colour paste if you colour your gumpaste *Toothpick • Corn flour/Corn starch – To prevent gumpaste from sticking • Trex/Crisco – For conditioning gumpaste *Something to insert your flower into as you work ____________________________________________________ Helpful Links You can purchase beginners Cake Decorating kit from: https://www.amazon.co.uk/BoYun-Decora...
