Originally composed for piano and violin, I arranged Arvo Pärt's "Spiegel im Spiegel" for vibraphone, with the bow taking on the leading voice (violin) and the mallets creating the accompaniment (piano). I first encountered this stunning piece through two of my favorite TV shows: Ted Lasso and The Good Place. Both featured deeply moving scenes that stuck with me—the storytelling, acting, and the music all came together so beautifully that I was brought to tears. It wasn’t until later that I realized both scenes used the same piece of music. Coincidence? I think not. That discovery inspired me to explore this piece on my own instrument.
