Using BGP at OpenStack to interconnect workloads across clouds

It is becoming more and more popular to use pure layer-3 Spine-and-Leaf deployments at datacenters due to the increment of virtualized/containerized workloads. It brings several benefits such as reduced failure domains and complexity at scale, or limiting broadcast traffic, among others. In this talk we will present a new open source project, named ovn-bgp-agent, that adds support for BGP and EVPN to OpenStack clusters using OVN. This project ensures OpenStack VMs, load balancers, and floating IPscan be exposed through BGP/EVPN. It is responsible for steering all the network traffic to/from the OVN overlay.
