Lydia Adilu is a senior at Archbishop MacDonald High School. Her parents are from Ethiopia and she was born and raised in Edmonton. Since she was a child, Lydia has been fascinated and inspired by global events. She attended her first political vigil when she was only 8 years old, and her passion for international issues has continued to strengthen ever since. She will be sharing insight her experiences have given her in trying to become a change maker. Lydia wants her generation to embrace the concept that change starts small but can flourish when individuals discover their purpose and approach it with diligence. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
