Note: It was an interesting preparation month where I could feel something about to change in a positive way. I got to spend a lot of time with old friends doing things that were a core of my identity. It was nice to introduce Emily to more of my family and history. I really started honing back in on my individuality and properly capturing the world with my new camera; it finally felt like a proper project, especially considering the original "AMBR" project I was doing with Emily at the time was there to chronicle where our relationship went. The month had elements of calm mundaneness, but it was just me comfortably enjoying time with my partner and friends. I was leading into December with the idea that I was moving away from my family and in with a new one, and I was just going for it. CHAPTERS: 00:08 | 4th November: We headed up from London to the North to spend our first year anniversary. 00:20 | 10th November: Shortly after Emily recovered from being ill, I took her to Trinity Kitchen in Leeds. We had these really lovely pulled pork buns from a place that isn't there anymore. We also went to the LEGO shop. 00:44 | 12th November: We took the train to Darlington, went through the Cornmill shopping center and bought a few DVDs and CDs, including Florence and the Machine and a Guardians of the Galax soundtrack. Emily found a little Christmas hat. I found a banner that had driving lessons for 5 to 17-year-olds, which didn't make any sense to me. Later, we went to Leeds to enjoy the German market with Nana Gail and the family. I commit this day to memory because I got to introduce Emily; my life partner, to something linked to a lot of childhood warmth for me. My dad got a hot dog and some fancy bread; I love my dad to bits. We had a really lovely night. 03:49 | 13th November: It was mine and Emily's first year anniversary since we started 'going out'. We visited Auntie Kirsty and Emily sat in the chair that I sat in when I was a child. We got dressed for our date and went into Leeds. We had a tradition where we would give each other £30 to £40 and say, "get yourself whatever you want in Forbidden Planet." We got some Invader Zim comics, then went to Bill’s restaurant for our first anniversary meal. Bill’s was the first restaurant we went to as a date when I first met up with her in Canterbury, so it continues to be a prominent place in our romantic history. 05:05 | 14th November: We headed into Harrogate to look at a Hilda art exhibition. Shortly after, we went into the Harrogate Christmas Market and a shop with bizarre toys, like feet you put on your fingers. Coming home, we were on one of the most dangerously overstuffed Northern trains I’ve ever been on. People were crammed on, a pregnant woman had people falling into her, and a strong old man was trying to hold the doors closed because they kept opening. I flipped off the train as it left and promptly reported it. When we got home, we made some chicken noodles and wrapped the Equinox Media Productions hoodies that my dad made for us. 07:22 | 15th November: I wave Emily off at the train station. This was technically the last time I ever had to say goodbye to her at the station because I was about to move in. We were aware we had one more painful month apart, but we were happy. 07:59 | 16th November: I'm just flabbergasted at the fact that 11 days on, there are still fireworks going off. 08:12 | 19th November: Getting some nice ambient shots of the frost that has set in around my nan’s house. I just sort of sit in the moment of the quiet, frosty air. 08:49 | 21st November: Again, it's just an instance of me looking at some fireworks... SO MANY DAYS AFTER BONFIRE NIGHT! 08:57 | 24th November: I start at the train station and realize there's an orange on the tracks that has been there for months. I got to spend time with the "Two Harrys" and help them make a video called "PasteWerld". We went to Lidl for ingredients like rice pudding, then to a cafe in Thirsk to write ideas. Harry Helsing scrawled on a banana and spent most of the day eating the aforementioned rice pudding. We spent time outside doing gags where they were talking like mafia bosses trying to get "paste." It devolved into a moment showing how committed to the bit Harry Helsing can be. It was fascinating to capture. I commit this day to wonderful memory because it was a beautifully chaotic time of just filming something stupid with old friends. 13:40 | 29th November: I spent this morning pre-emptively wrapping some presents for Emily for her Birthday. I walked up a big strenuous hill after looking at a deflated pumpkin and posted them at the post office. I tested out the 70mm option on my new zoom lens while I called Emily and got some really lovely shots. 14:34 | 30th November: A bunch of lovely shots where I just sat in a bedroom looking out the window at wildlife and birds. Ending the month with a lovely shot fading out of a bunch of frost on top of the houses.
