Watch this special conversation via Zoom about Rufino Tamayo and the groundbreaking Mixografía printmaking technique, organized in conjunction with the exhibition "Rufino Tamayo: Innovation and Experimentation." Mixografía Director Shaye Remba joined in from the gallery workshop, home to the equipment Tamayo used to make prints, including the monumental "Two Personages Attacked by Dogs" (1983). Along with exhibition curator Rachel Kaplan, Remba discusses the history and process of making a Mixografía print, which enabled Tamayo to incorporate greater texture and volume into his graphic output. This conversation took place on May 12, 2020. Learn more about the exhibition: https://www.lacma.org/art/exhibition/...
