Isla Mujeres Day Trip on Day 5 of our stay at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, and today’s vlog covers an absolutely unforgettable visit to Isla Mujeres with Traffic Tours, 100% recommend if you’re staying in the area. This continues our honest, real-world review of the hotel, while showing what a full organised excursion day actually looks like. ⏰ Early Start & Travel to Cancun It was an early start, with a 07:10 pick-up from reception after a quick coffee at The Black Sheep. From the resort, it was around a 2-hour drive to Cancun, where we boarded the boat for the crossing to Isla Mujeres. ⛵ Boat Trip, Snorkelling & Rough Seas We travelled on the Salamé, with Captain Jonathan, and had professional photos taken by Louise during the trip — which we chose to purchase at the end of the day. During the boat trip, we stopped for a snorkelling session of around 200 metres. Sea conditions were quite rough, which made the swim challenging, but there were plenty of safety boats nearby for anyone who needed help. Despite the conditions, we still saw: Lots of fish An underwater hand sculpture, part of the MUSA Underwater Museum installations located around the Manchones Reef area There were also drinks flowing on board, making the journey across to Isla Mujeres great fun. 🛍️ Arrival, Shops & Tequila Tour As soon as we arrived on the island, we were pulled into the shops, where: Helen was given a free turtle necklace charm We were invited into a tequila tasting tour The tequila was very tasty, but also very expensive — 3,500 Mexican pesos (£150) for two bottles, so that was a definite no from us! 🍽️ Lunch at Zama Restaurant Lunch was included at Zama Beach Club, with a buffet-style meal that was: Fresh, clean and really tasty. A very welcome break after the morning’s travelling and snorkelling. 🚶 Exploring Isla Mujeres After lunch, we went for a proper walk around the island, covering: The busy shopping area Down towards the military base Cutting across to the other side of the island Following the coastline all the way around We passed the iconic Hotel Secreto, often called the pink hotel, sitting right on the beach, before looping back to Zama. 🍹 Chill Time, Photos & Souvenirs We spent about an hour relaxing at Zama, enjoying: Cocktails XX Lager We also got our photo taken with the Mayan Eagle God statue, which was a great moment, before popping back to the shops to pick up a souvenir. ⏰ Return Journey & Back to the Resort We boarded the boat back at 4:10 pm, then it was: Back on the minibus Return to the Grand Sirenis A quick buffet bite And some churros from the outside vendor to finish the day perfectly ⭐ Final Thoughts This was an absolutely amazing day and something we would 100% recommend. In fact, when we return to the Grand Sirenis in 2027, we’ve already decided we’ll be doing an overnight stay on Isla Mujeres, because this trip impressed us so much. The excursion was organised through Traffic Tours, located in the main reception area next to Sambay Bar. This video is part of our full Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya review, filmed during our real stay — no AI, no stock footage, just genuine experiences as they happened. 👉 Make sure you’re watching the full daily vlog series for the complete picture of the resort and surrounding excursions. 👍 If this helps your holiday planning, please like, subscribe, and follow the series. 🍹 More honest hotel reviews and real travel adventures coming soon from The Cockney and The Geordie Adventures
