Davy Jones, who passed away in 2012 is represented by a rare track from the Sixties. The Album was produced by, Adam Schlesinger from the power pop band, Fountains of Wayne. He also wrote the song “That Thing You Do” from the Tom Hanks film of the same name. That song alone is reason enough why he would be the perfect choice to produce Good Times! The album was a mix of recently completed outtakes from the sixties written by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart, Harry Nilsson, Gerry Goffin & Carole King and Jeff Barry & Joey Levine and new songs written by contemporary artists like Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie, Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, Andy Partridge of XTC and Noel Gallagher from Oasis and Paul Weller of The Jam. Each of the three Monkees contributed a song. The album debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts at its peak of #14. Their best album showing in 48 years. It hit #1 on Indie Store chart and on the Vinyl Chart. On Billboard’s chart that excludes streaming in its calculation, Good Times was the sixth best-selling album on the week of release.
