What does African wildlife get up to when we aren't watching? Check out some epic trail cam highlights of an amazing 18 months from Moditlo on Blue Canyon Private Game Reserve. The diversity of species that was captured is astounding. From some very impressive big cats, lion and leopard as well as hyenas plus smaller predators like civet and rarely seen nocturnal species such as honey badger, bushpig, aardvark and even cape clawless otter. The large herbivores were also captured up close and personal, curious elephants, zebras, and even a big rhino bull rubbed against the trail cam after his mud wallow. It's a big risk placing a trail cam in such close proximity to wildlife along well used game paths. Mounting it on guarri bushes is even greater risk as these bushes are favored by a number of species for scent marking and rubbing. Some species are just simply curious about the trail cam. They possibly also pick up the sound of the infrared filter. I still can't believe that this trail cam somehow survived some close encounters and brutal attacks, most notably from a rhino bull, a giraffe bull, and a southern ground hornbill!
