The final two days of the mammoth Great Britain railtour, would see it head to Swanage and the South Coast for the first time. The original motive power for the tour was to be 34046 Braunton and U Class 31806. Due to other commitments 34046 was withdrawn from the lineup and a suitable replacement was to be found. A4 class No. 60009 Union of South Africa became the chosen loco to top and tail with 31806 for day 8 of the run, and would haul the last day from Swanage to London Victoria. With the first few days of the tour underway, firebox problems were discovered on the A4 and it was also withdrawn from the tour. In steps the ever reliable Black 5 No. 45212 to take over the A4's duty's. Starting on the Swanage Railway, we pick up the action at 07:15 in the morning, to see 'U Boat' 31808 steam past the Ruins of Corfe Castle, on its light engine movement to Yeovil Junction. where it will pick up the tour. With the U being turned at Yeovil, we head north to see the Black 5 making steady progress with the tour, heading for Yeovil Junction. With the train now 'Top & Tailed' the U took charge climbing Evershot Bank and continued leading to Weymouth. Having reversed direction the train Is climbing the 1 In 50 of Upwey Bank to a crowd of onlookers at Bincombe. The final part of the Journey had the U leading again, from Wareham to Swanage. The final day saw 45212 take the tour back to London, along the south coast and up the Portsmouth direct line. also helping the loco on the final day was the WCRC Class 37 No. 37668
