Caramel Powder-1 Ingredient Ingredients: 1 cup Granulated Sugar (This is a very easy recipe it just takes patience so remember DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM THE STOVE!) Prepare a baking tray with parchment paper or silicon mat and set aside to be ready when caramel is done. In medium skillet add 1 cup of sugar and turn heat to medium low. Let sugar slowly melt without stirring. You can swirl the skillet on occasion as you see the sugar melting and breaking down. Make sure the heat is not too hot or the sugar can burn. This takes about 6-10 minutes to complete the process so stay at the stove during the entire process. You are looking for all the sugar to be completely dissolved and a dark amber color. When the sugar has finally dissolved let come up to a small boil for about 1-2 minutes then pour on prepared baking tray you have set aside. Once on baking tray you can spread around which helps cool the caramel while trying to make a even layer. When cool enough place plastic wrap over the tray and let sit until the next day to completely harden. Once hard break caramel into pieces (careful some of the shards are sharp) use a food processor or spice blender to caramel into powder. Once powder has been made pour into a mesh or stainless steel strainer and push caramel thru to get a very fine dust. Once all the powder has been collected store in a air tight container. This caramel powder has endless uses in baking. Enjoy!
