A nice gentle walk along the beautiful Llangollen Canal, we head to and cross the Chrik Aqueduct before walking through the long and dark Chirk Tunnel. Whilst the walk starts in England, as we cross the aqueduct also cross the border into Wales. The Chirk Aqueduct was designed by Thomas Telford, a Scottish civil engineer, and was completed in 1801. It is constructed of cast iron and stone, with a span of 70 meters (230 feet) and a height of 21 meters (70 feet) above the river. A beautiful walk on a lovely Spring day!
