Birth: October 8, 1954,Tonisvorst (Germany) Nationality: German Activity: Painter, photographer, musician, engraver Master: Joseph Beuys Work places: Cologne (1976), USA (1994) Walter Dahn, born October 8, 1954 in Tönisvorst (Germany), is a German painter, photographer and sound artist. He is one of the most important representatives of the Junge Wilde (New Fauves) of the 1980s. Dahn teaches painting at the Haute École d'arts Plastiques. From 1971 to 1979, Dahn studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, where he was a master's student with Joseph Beuys. Particular emphasis is placed in his work on drawing, photography and the creation of videos and Super 82 films. From 1979 to 1982 he was a member of the artist group Mülheimer Freiheit. Walter Dahn lives and works in Cologne.
