After a visit to Lyle's Barber Shop in Portland, Oregon, you'll leave as a friend! We recently had the pleasure of meeting and filming with Brian Burt of Lyle’s Barber Shop in Portland, Oregon. Brian’s love and appreciation of traditional barbershops goes back years before he became a barber.   After going to barber college and learning to cut from old school traditional barbers, Brian opened his first shop Lefty’s in San Diego, California.  The shop was named Lefty’s since Brian is left-handed.  He later sold Lefty’s and worked in barbershops in southern California as he made his way up the coast to Seattle, Washington. Then three years ago after moving to Portland, Brian opened his third shop.  Brian said Portland didn’t really have many traditional barbershops. So he opened Lyle’s Barber Shop which is named after his grandfather who always dressed impeccably and gave Brian a lot of life lessons. This was Brian’s way of paying homage to his grandfather who was “just a great human being.” Brian gives us a tour of Lyle’s Barber Shop and shows three of his favorite things inside the shop. He also shares what he loves about barbering.
