Woman Where Art Thou: Cindi: the other woman. John 4:1-42 The Bible is full of stories about women and choosing one woman over another is a difficult choice. I think we need all the stories regardless of our own backgrounds, or ability to identify or relate to the many different cultural, religious and historical contexts. Each woman brings something to light that will help us all be shaped into the person and people God is forming. These stories include “descriptions” of all kinds of beliefs and behaviors, having them told in the Bible doesn’t mean they all are necessarily a “prescription” for us. But in some way, from some angle they contain truth that we need to chew on, digest and assimilate for growth. For men listening: we are all called to listen and learn too, every story contains something for us if we have eyes to see and ears to hear. So no matter if we look at Heroines, Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Slaves, Prophetesses, Queens, Wives, Witches or Whores every woman’s story matters in the Bible.
