Rose Canker Identification and Treatment

Rose Canker is a fairly common fungal disease that effects roses. It is typically found after pruning, since the main symptoms are black markings along the stems of rose bushes. It is important to trim out any infected branches and to sterilize your pruners between cuts in order to prevent spreading the infection. In the early spring, you can spray systemic fungicides to help prevent Canker. Regular fertilization is also recommended in order to help roses fight off Canker and other pest issues.
