Coloring concrete or mortar mixes is a fun and easy way to create unique and fun designs of your own. The possible color combinations and patterns are virtually endless making it a great way to express creativity in an otherwise dull medium. This five part series experiments with color combinations and designs to easily create some unique stepping stone samples. Let these examples inspire your to make your own creative color combinations in your next concrete project. In this video, a green slurry is made and a marbling pattern is painted on a fake rock texture mat placed in a 12x12" stepping stone mold with a paint brush before the mold is filled with a 2:1 mortar mix made with white Portland cement and white sand. After a period of curing, the stepping stone is removed from the mold. See the results of this green marble sample in the reveal.
