Join this channel to get access to perks: / @thejennifermadison This week, I received the announcement from work that my department will be returning to the office 5 days a week starting in October. I LOVE my job, have made such incredible friendships with coworkers, and truly enjoy what I do. I have been commuting 3 hours round trip 3 times a week for the past 2.5 years, and although it can be tough, it has been worth it for me to keep my job (especially because the job opportunities near me aren't as great living in a rural area). I'm not sure what my future holds now for my job or how long I will be able to make a 5-day return work... but I am grateful to have some time to figure out what makes sense for me moving forward. With this news, I was initially upset and worried. I did struggle this week with my eating and feel I got a little out of control because of it. This is one of the first times I wanted to break my sobriety as a way to "unwind" after getting the news. I am so happy that instead of doing that, I decided to grab dinner with a friend and went swimming instead. I did eat out WAY too much this week and didn't push overly hard with my workouts, but I'm focusing on the positives, which are that I didn't drink and I still got some activity in. Next week, I am refocusing on my weight loss, most importantly so I can have something to really focus my time and energy on rather than stressing out about trying to immediately make a decision on what is next for me. I am going to get back to my gallon of water, work out daily, and eat my meals at home. Either Sunday or Monday, I will go for a grocery run to restock so I can set myself up for a successful week. Right now, I am focusing on what I can control: my healthy habits and my routine. I am trusting that everything else will work out the way it is supposed to.
