Mauro Giuliani's Op.100, No.16 (Rondo Allegretto) is a beautiful intermediate guitar etude. In fact, the melody of this Giuliani etude is one of my all-time favorites from any of his studies. Etude No.16 starts and ends in the key of C major, and has a middle section that's mostly in the key of G major. This piece introduces many fast and challenging phrases for both the left and right hand. Making the melody ring clear while balancing the chordal harmony is the overarching difficulty in this study. At the same time, that's what makes this Giuliani etude so incredible!
