Paragliding Mont Saleve Was NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! Awesome XC in France

Paragliding Mont Saleve in France was definitely not what I expected… but it was one of my best xc paragliding flights on my entire cycling adventure through Europe. Maybe THE BEST flight alltogether. I cycled well over 600 km to reach this mountain, which offers an awesome view over Geneva city and it’s huge lake in Switzerland. After arriving on top of the take off site, I was humbled by the fantastic view over Geneva but I was very excited to fly over the landscape. Shortly after taking off, I was able to soar the ridge back and fort many times, having fun thermaling my way up and flying extremely close over people who were very funny and friendly, and enjoying the view of the mighty Mont Blanc – the tallest mountain in Europe. After playing around, I entered the „elevator“ which is my definiton a reliable strong thermal that catapulted me at least 200 meters higher in around 2 minutes. The highest altitude I reached was around 1650 m AMSL. The highest legal altitude is 1700 m AMSL so it was all fine. Once I arrived at the altitude, I went on a xc flight but on my way back I couldn’t find any thermals anymore, so I had to land in the middle of nowhere.
