The PT6 engine in the PC-12 NG is incredibly reliable. It is highly unlikely that you will experience a loss of power in flight but it could happen and you need to be prepared. In this video we review three PC-12 accidents and see what we can learn from them, then demonstrate engine-out procedures both on takeoff and while up at altitude. We show the following scenarios: • Engine rollback at 100' AGL • Engine failure below 1,000' AGL • Engine failure at 1,000' AGL • Engine failure above 1,000' AGL • Engine failure at 6,000' AGL POPA Safe Flying is a series of training videos produced by POPA in partnership with FlightSafety. This series will include scenarios in the PC-12 Legacy, PC-12 NG, and PC-24 simulators. These training videos will show realistic scenarios and realistic pilot mistakes, followed by correct procedures demonstrated by CFI’s Travis Holland (PC-24) and Rod Kellogg (PC-12).
