In this episode of the podcast I am speaking with Jungian psychoanalyst Dr Ursula Wirtz about Trauma and Beyond. Amongst other things we talk about how she was born in the immediate aftermath of WWII in Germany, her studies, introduction to psychology of Jung, studies within the field of trauma, her approach towards trauma, Jung and the Red Book, the mystery of transformation, spirituality, death/rebirth and the light that is born from the dark. Ursula Wirtz was born in 1946 in Germany. Living in Switzerland since 1978, holding dual citizenship. She is a lecturer, Training and Supervising analyst at ISAPZURICH and conducts her private practice in Zürich. She studied philosophy, literature and linguistics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, where she received her PhD in 1971.During 1972–1973 she did postdoctoral studies in the USA. During 1978–1984 she studied clinical and anthropological psychology at the university of Zürich and graduated as lic.phil (clinical psychologist) in1982. she received her Diploma in Analytical psychology at the Jung Institute Zürich in 1982. She has been involved in the training of Jungian analysts in Moscow, the Baltic countries, Czech Republic, China and Taiwan.
