Weber State University - Advanced Vehicle Systems Lab. A brief description and demonstration of the GM Duramax 6.6L Diesel Piezo Fuel Injector system of the 2011 - 2013 GM Duramax equipped trucks. The Piezo crystal stack in this injector can react in 0.0001 seconds and deliver up to 7 injector fuel pulses per combustion event. This injector system is much quicker to react than the previous model injectors that were electromagnetically actuated. This allows for more power, better fuel economy, and cleaner emissions.
