On one hand, I see for example, the process of evolution over millennia, or my wounds healing on their own represent we are the Miracles… Yet, I see a limitation to process various things in mind and what we may or may not be able to share. But if there is a will, there is a way. Don’t you think? The topic here is about: Shinran from Shin Buddhism (True Pure Land Sect) about Other Power vs Dogen from Zen about Self Power as commonly described by some (which I agree to a degree) Interestingly, Tan-ni-sho (a record of Shinran’s words captured by his followers) points even sinners can go to the pureland (nirvana) once they let themselves taken over by the other power (Namu- ami-da-butsu - vow to give oneself to the other power, represented by Amida Buddha - or laws of universe, one may say). As an example: Myokonin, a group of those from Shin Buddhism, believe that they are saved by Amida Buddha. I studied them quite a lot about 12 years ago. Now, it is as if throwing myself into the hand of Amida Buddha - or nature's way.. Kio PS Quote by Dogen on Life-and-Death (my translation): Cast aside or forget your body and mind. Throw them into the house of Buddha. Simply following this without making any effort nor consuming our mind, we find ourselves released from life-and-death to become Buddha.
