Seal Rescue

We're currently in Namibian summer, which marks our rescue low season. It's hard to picture how hectic it gets during winter when we encounter multiple entangled seals in a single group. During that time, we often focus on scanning for entanglements within the group, with all nets and rescuers on standby. As soon as we spot one, the nearest rescuer is deployed. We only begin to assess the seals after the entire group has been addressed. Right now, it's hot, and the seals prefer to stay off the beach. They're agitated and dive into the water as soon as they see us.
