Gunnison National Forest Colorado Copper Lake Trail to East Maroon Pass

This is our hike in Gunnison National Forest out near Crested Butte Colorado. This was a 6 mile hike up the Copper Lake Trail to the top of East Maroon Pass, then a 6 mile return hike back to the trail head parking lot. Beautiful wildflowers along the way, plenty of flowing water sources, we had to remove our shoes to cross 4 of them. The hike up to Copper Lake is really beautiful but the best part to me is just passed Copper Lake up to East Maroon Pass. You get beautiful views of the lake and then at the pass you have views of the Maroon Bells and another beautiful valley down below on the other side.This was and excellent day hike but camping up around copper lake would be a nice easy over night trip.
