Location: Victoria Road Line: Merseyrail Northern Line (Southport - Hunts Cross) Crossing Type: MCB-CCTV Lights: 5x Unipart Dorman LEDs Yodalarms: 2 Clifford & Snell YO3s Barriers: 4x SPX Rail Systems Timetable used: Freshfield ^ Info from Google Maps/Real Time Trains Date of Video Capture: 09/03/2024 This crossing is located in the middle of the village of Freshfields, and the crossing consists of the usual MCB-CCTV setup within the Merseyrail network, originally installed in the late 1970s/early 1980s as a regular MCB controlled from the Freshfield signal box but then given the MCB-CCTV upgrade in 1994 with the signal box at the crossing demolished and operations passed to Merseyrails IECC at Sandhills. This crossing has an interesting delay when the second set of barriers lower after around two seconds which I've not noticed anywhere else, I wonder why the crossing is configured like this? The second closure also consists of some silly misuse by a pedestrian resulting in a hangman, a bit ironic how there is technically a footbridge nearby. The angle is also a bit poor, I only had around 45 seconds to set up after the first closure as the train was delayed by 6 minutes and I wasn't quite sure where to set up (or if I was able to get across the road quickly to set up) Closures: Closure 1 - 15:38 — (0:23) Train — (6 Car Formation - 15:41 from Southport) 2:35 507 010 and 507 016 ('Merseyrail 10th Anniversary') Closure 2 - 15:42 (3:20) 15:39 from Hunts Cross 777 032 (arrived 6 minutes late) 5:54 Recorded on Samsung S20 FE - UHD 60 FPS Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 Thanks for Watching!
