Why is the Holy Bible called the Authorized Version?

I understand it's reasonable to conclude by the title on the cover that it's because this book was Authorized by a King it is therefore called the AV, this is a surface level reasoning (nothing wrong with that) but upon further inspection we are also able to conclude that is not the case, a historical timeline investigation will prove the latter and it is the latter I propose in my shared opinion. Why is the Holy Bible called the Authorized Version, or even the King James Version? I have a hunch and will share my opinion; If God can bring a perfect sinless man through the fallen nature of a sinful woman why couldn't he do the same for his word, the bible says it has the power to save our soul and God has magnified his word above all names (that would include Jesus) then it sounds reasonable to me that this is an operation of the Holy Spirit working through fallen man. This in part was inspired from Dr Ruckman's teachings as well as others who share this perspective. James 1:21b "... and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls."
