Waterfalls, Pyramids, And Van Problems. Vanlifing Clearwater BC - Wells Gray

This video is a continuation of my ultimate summer adventure vanlife road trip, and it takes place in Clearwater, British Columbia, Canada. I was in clearwater to meet a couple friends, and to camp, do tourist stuff, and go paddling with them, but also I had to fix my van. If you watched my last episode, you know that I discovered that I had a rear shock that was just dangling from the upper mount, and that there was no stores in Blue River where I was. Clearwater was the closest real town, and I had to meet my friends there anyways, so it worked out well. I went to Auto Parts Plus/Aspen Auto Parts and got a replacement lower shock bolt for $7.20. It went in pretty easily with the help of a ratchet strap and my big wrench. Fingers crossed that that's the most expensive repair of the trip! After the van fix, I made breakfast at the Pyramid campsite in Wells Gray Provincial park, then hiked Pyramid mountain. Pyramid Mountain is a mountain that was left behind after a volcano erupted under what would of been about 1,600 meters of ice. The ice would of rapidly cooled the lava, leaving behind this cone/pyramid shaped mountain. It's a pretty wild geological odity, and just one of the many pieces of Wells Gray's volcanic past. After that hike I drove through a random rainstorm, passed the mushbowl, then started another hike called Moul Falls. Wells Gray is famous for both it's volcanic past and it's waterfalls, so it was great to tick both off of my list today. Moul Falls is the 3rd tallest waterfall in the park, behind its big brothers Spahats and Helmken. It's claim to fame is that you can walk in behind the waterfalls, which sets it apart from the others, which have to be viewed by well developed viewing platforms. I hiked down the path, then down the stairs, right down to the falls and then in behind them. It was awesome. Last year I saw all the other falls in Wells Gray, so it was great to round it all out with my trip to Moul Falls. After my hikes, I headed back to clearwater itself for some stealth van camping and music in the park. A band called "The Eh! Team" played a bunch of legendary Canadian hits. It was awesome, I love myself some small town music in the parks. In the morning I checked out the public bathrooms at Dutch Lake, which were not good, but still good enough to use them. After that, I ended this video with a breakfast review. I went to Backcountry Bowls for a brecky burrito. Backcountry Bowls is a plant based food truck located at the Wells Gray information center. Plant based food is definitely not my thing, but when in Wells Gray... I actually did enjoy my breaky wrap, and it felt good to actually eat some vegetables, because I do find myself kind of eating like crap while living the van life. All in all, I really enjoyed my trip to Wells Gray and Clearwater BC. This trip kind of marks the end of the first phase of my summer vanlife trip. The beginning of my trip has been marked with false starts and hiccups, but from here, I'm really starting to get out out and spread my wings.
