This week, it was finally time to show some love to the old water well that’s been here on the island longer than anyone can remember. We started by tearing off the worn-out boards, draining out the murky water, and then Matty climbed down in to clear out years of built-up sludge by hand — one bucket at a time. With the hard work done, we sealed it back up and now just have to wait for it to fill again. Kelly also took on her first big solo town run — leaving the island by boat, jumping into our old ’86 fire truck, and driving down the Burin Peninsula to stock up on everything from groceries for us too feed for the animals. A big haul, and a big day. We wrap things up the way we love to: sitting down for a Q&A over a cup of tea and checking in with all of you. Thanks for being here with us each week — your support means the world as we keep building this off-grid life, one project at a time.
