In her talk, Adiya Kakim addresses various social issues through art. Being an artist herself, she vigorously explains how paintings can talk and deliver strong messages that are sometimes not welcome or even not allowed within communities. Through her paintings and colorful metaphors, we learn more about local Kazakh culture, the role of Kazakh women in history, and other social matters. Her talk is a truly great combination of all channels of communication to the audience. Adiya Kakim is a talented artist, originally from Kazakhstan. She is a student at the Kazakh National University of Arts. At the heart of her creativity lies a deep social consciousness. Adiyas' artistic expressions reverently pay homage to her native Kazakh culture and the storied history of Asia. With her brush, she deftly illuminates pressing social issues such as corruption, domestic child abuse, and feminism, channeling her profound understanding and empathy into thought-provoking works of art that stir public consciousness and advocate for positive change. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
