Israel's Ethnic Cleansing Campaign in the West Bank: Occupation, Forced Displacement and Annexation

DAWN convened a panel of experts — Diana Buttu, Nadia Hardman, Munir Nuseibah, and Michael Schaeffer Omer-Man — on March 3, 2026 to discuss Israel's intensifying efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians and annex the West Bank. Amid Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza, and renewed attacks on Iran and Lebanon, Israel's campaign to ethnically cleanse the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have gone into hyperdrive. While long-running, Israel's efforts have advanced rapidly since Hamas' October 7, 2023 attack. The far-right government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to create facts on the ground with the expressed intention of ending any potential for a Palestinian state. These efforts violate U.N. Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, as well as International Court of Justice rulings.
