Hello there!!! Summer has landed here and Texas is a very hot place once again, but there's still so much to enjoy in between the triple digit days. I was asked by a few people to see my exhibit up, so I tried to take plenty of pictures and clips from the opening, which admittedly, isn't always my strong suit. There's often so much going on, hand shaking, conversations, and hugs being given I forget to pull out a camera. I'm happy to say, the show was a hit! I jumped right back into the studio and painted a new piece that wowed me, made me smile, and gave me the confidence to begin my largest artwork on canvas to date. Having a six and a half foot canvas in my studio has been a curious companion. Often not feeling ready or knowing "where to begin" was an on and off again source of uncertainty for me. I had a realization after reflecting on the work I've made over the years, seeing my skills, the support of community, and resourcefulness cultivated- a sense of knowing came. Skills, resources, knowledge are all we need to do any task, but our own personal level of confidence in those things is what creates a sense of preparedness or feeling of being ready. Jumping into that giant canvas came down to a mindset, a simple shift in perspective, that we can achieve anything we put our efforts into. I am constantly delighted by the gifts and lessons this practice has in store and look forward to sharing more. Thanks so much for watching!! Until next time, take care! -Andrea
