Glenn and I were out delivering for The Secret Garden, helping our kids who now run the shop. It’s very much all hands on deck, but we definitely have the best job — driving around Northampton delivering bouquets. Even the trickier town centre drops went smoothly. A busy day, but a good one. Sunday Lunch & Donut Treats | Daily Vlog | Sun 15th February (2026) We wanted to squeeze in as much family time as possible while we were back in Northampton, so we were thrilled when Naomi and Mark invited us round for Sunday lunch. It was absolutely delicious and so lovely to sit around the table together. I brought a box of Krispy Kreme donuts with me, and the kids were very happy indeed. A perfect end to our Valentine’s weekend. Narrowboat Progress & Heading Home with Ryan | Daily Vlog | Mon 16th February (2026) We left Northampton and travelled up to Stoke-on-Trent to check in on the progress of our new narrowboat build. It’s been slow going, but it was really good to finally see some movement and changes taking shape. After that, we made the long journey back home to Devon. We’ve got our grandson Ryan staying with us for a couple of days, so it was lovely to arrive back and have him with us. Train Adventures, Cathedral Tours & A Sudden Downpour | Daily Vlog | Tues 17th February (2026) Ryan and I hopped on the train to Exeter, and just as we reached the stretch of track with those gorgeous sea views, the sun made an appearance — perfect timing. Ryan absolutely loved it. We visited Exeter Cathedral and joined a tour, which was really interesting, though we both realised how hungry we were by the end. After grabbing some lunch, we caught the train back home. I was so caught up in enjoying the day that I barely filmed — one of those moments where being present mattered more than the camera. Meanwhile, Glenn had a rare rain-free day at the boat and got stuck into more jobs. Of course, just as we thought we’d escaped the Devon weather, the heavens opened around 5pm and well and truly made up for lost time. Rainy Hat Hunts, Bus Rides & Fish and Chips by the Sea | Daily Vlog | Wed 18th February (2026) Another very rainy day in Devon. Ryan and I decided it was the perfect excuse to go hat shopping. Partly to keep warm and dry… and partly because we were both having a serious bad hair day. Two charity shops later, and we were proudly wearing our new hats. We caught the bus to Dartmouth, but the rain was absolutely relentless, so we gave the castle a miss and opted for fish and chips instead. Glenn joined us (a joy to spot arriving with a big umbrella), and after lunch we headed over to Brixham in the hope of seeing some seals. River Walks, Castle Views & Saying Goodbye | Daily Vlog | Thurs 19th February (2026) Our last day with Ryan — and because I had a couple of hours of work in the afternoon, we packed as much as we could into the morning. Ryan is a keen photographer, so we started with a walk down to the river, stopping to snap a few photos along the way. We treated ourselves to a pasty and a cup of tea at Fuller’s Bakery (absolutely delicious), before heading up to Totnes Castle for some amazing views over the town. Once Glenn finished work, we jumped in the car and headed up the M5 to meet Mark and say goodbye to Ryan. It was so lovely having him with us — a busy, happy few days that went far too quickly. Rainy Evenings, Work Days & Olympic Sofa Time | Daily Vlog | Fri 20th February (2026) We both worked all day today, and by the time evening rolled around, the rain was absolutely relentless. I did toy with the idea of heading out, but the cosy sofa won in the end. I mixed myself a Tia Maria and Coke, settled in under a blanket, and watched the Olympics from the comfort of home.
