Acrylic Painting Demo: Limited Color Palette Impressionistic Floral Painting Using 5 Colors

In this week's video, I will show you my favorite limited color palette of 5 colors (+ titanium white) Please note: I use mostly Liquitex professional heavy body acrylics, but I have posted links for their Basics line as well. These are also great paints, but less expensive. Green gold Quinacridone magenta Payne's gray Van Dyke red (a very warm brown-red) Unbleached titanium The tools I used were a #12 filbert brush and a Princeton brand Catalyst silicone wedge. I also used glazing liquid. My painting and color choices were inspired by the Christmas season, as we are only a few days away from Christmas as I paint and film this demo. A limited color palette will give a certain sophistication to your paintings, and make painting more effortless because your paintings will feel harmonized and balanced, not all over the road. A good place to begin is to choose 1 paint color from the magenta family, 1 from the blue family, and 1 from the yellow family, plus white. In my choices for my color palette, Payne's gray is my blue, green gold is my yellow, quinacridone magenta and Van Dyke red are my reds and unbleached titanium is my white.....I added titanium white as an afterthought because I decided I wanted to use a brighter, cooler white for some of my floral elements.
