The TR1K has two methods of sync for its internal synchronisation. ‘All tracks’ focuses on keeping all tracks In time at the expense of latency. ‘Layered Tracks’ keeps the four layered tracks the same as ‘all track’ option, however the sync of the remaining six tracks is loosened up allowing for less latency when synced , at the expense of less internal sync. Some patterns are hard to notice and difference , in fact layered tracks loosens it enough for it to have a pleasant groove , whilst other patterns sound awkward. The last two patterns for instance , where layered tracks flams the modulation I have on the snare , which has its speed parameter modulated by an LFO. Everything is a trade off , some times Layered can sound great , reasonably tight but funky , other times it sounds awkward and syncopated. All sounds are from the TR1000 , some user samples also.
